In the 20 years before 2000, with the rapid economic growth and the opening-up in culture, Rock and Roll music played a great role in the enlightenment of Chinese young people. However, with the fading-out of globalization, Chinese economy had being gradually going down. In today’s China, under the great pressure of the competition for surviving: overtime working, promotion, money gaining and house buying, drifting aimlessly through the days is the way some young people choose to rebel. The photographer focus on Live House as the shooting site to record the bizarre behaviors of entertainment of Chinese young people nowadays, showing their cool style with a slight taste of “kitsch” in this era. Which is a different kind of “Cool “from the rebellion and passion of the “young generation” in the previous era.
Photographer, artist, working and living in Beijing, China. As an independent photography artist he works on commercial photography to support his own creation. He has being continued to shoot Chinese Rock and Roll music scene for more than 10 years. Many personal photography exhibitions of his have been held. Free will, social issues are among the key words of discussion of his photographic creation.
