Exhibiting photographers: Charles McKean, Jacqui Dean, Grant Murray, Antonio Ranieri
Return to Nature combines the talents of four diverse, gifted Australian photographers, bringing together their shared passion for the seductive natural forms found within Nature in Australia. The constantly changing outdoor landscape challenges the vision of each photographer in differing ways and their collective vision clearly demonstrates that a single flower can be as entrancing as an ocean landscape and as visually intriguing as a voluptuous cloud.
Believing that nature itself is the source of true beauty, each talented artist explores powerful and provocative visions of landscape and fauna found throughout Australia. Their images remind us that life is about more than rushing from place to place and that the planet’s wonders are not to be found on the fashion catwalk or in the pages of beauty magazines. Using a variety of personal styles and visual techniques, photographic artists in Return to Nature explores both the strength and vulnerabilities of Nature, using the full artistic visual grammar of contemporary fine-art photography – from exquisitely descriptive observations to examining the very cellular nature of flora.
Return to Nature leaves the tumult of contemporary life behind and allows visitors to this display to discover again the tranquillity and beauty of Nature. Experiencing the serenity of the physical world that nourishes our lives will perhaps inspire visitors to make their own Return to Nature.
