In August 2014 I packed the car and took a road trip to Broken Hill, the Silver City. The mineral deposit, the ‘line of lode’, is now almost exhausted and is marked by a slag heap running through the centre of town. With just enough time to break free of the city and hit the highways through the desert, I experienced part of Australia very different to my life in Sydney, a community a little less influenced by the rest of the world and the trends of metro areas.
These images were made with medium and large format cameras. The exhibition features images hand printed on fibre paper by myself, using the Think Negative darkroom.
