Cosmos is the long dance of the universe, based on birth, transformation, and death on the grandest and smallest of scales. The awe and wonder of these events are largely beyond human experience. The dynamic forces at play are reflected through science and mystery and in both the visible and unseen, with permeating elements of certainty and chance.
These dualities are reflected in the organic, granular, and etching-like nature of the photographs in Cosmos, which are presented like treasure maps ripped from the heavens. The pictures in their original form were created from an experimental darkroom process involving hand-coated emulsion on watercolour paper, enhancing the elements of randomness, the features of the universe itself.
