This series was created in Dar-es-Salaam to raise awareness of the plight of people with albinism (PWA) in Tanzania, where, albinos are thought to be evil. The fear and superstition surrounding albinism run very deep. Albino children with albinism live in constant fear of brutal attacks because killing a child with albinism is considered to bring good luck and so-called witch doctors make potions from their body parts to sell for as much as $75,000 on the black market.
