WATER & LIGHT ETCHINGS

Repeated visits to the nearby creek became the source of inspiration for Nancy’s series of works. Long exposures and a neutral density filter allow her to capture the energy of the creek’s rapidly flowing water as it reveals a world of abstract, ethereal beauty under the midday sun. The intricately etched images resemble clouds, celestial nebula and delicately entangled strands of hair.

Choosing to present her vision with abstract artistry, Nancy conveys the energy and dance of the water. Muted colours allow the spotlight to illuminate the choreography of light and patterns.

These images are part of a larger project centring around the beauty of waterways and the ocean. Places that hold a special place in Nancy’s heart, connecting her to childhood memories of the family farm’s creek and river and annual holidays to the sea.
