The Eagle and the Snake, Cuauhtli y Quetzal

In the centre of nature and space, I feel the telluric energy. Good and evil, life and death, all partner with history and traditions, dualities sealing destinies. It interrogates me, fascinates me. The power of the Mexican universe accompanies me day and night; its waves envelop me. Life arises from reality. Breathing, eating and drinking become metaphysical needs. Time stretches to embrace the present, the past and the future. Stars and planets align in this Big-Bang, destroying my true self. The physical self embodies the point of union of the four sacred senses of the ‘Nahui’ World: upper, lower, celestial water and winds. Along with fire, earth, water and air, my body, suffused by Mexican cosmology, is part of the five elements in the movement ‘Ollin’.
I am a French photographer and a graduate of Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arles. At 8, I won my first camera at a funfair. After discovering the integrity of the image on paper, my life was to be changed forever.
In 1988, I joined the Pavillon Populaire of Montpellier, where I held the post of curator, responsible for the collection of Montpellier Photo Vision and the management of exhibitions. In 2011, I was recruited by Leica Camera AG to support emerging talent and brand development in the Mediterranean Basin.
