Pictures by William Yang of two productions of Pina Bausch, “Kontakthof” and “1980”, which were shot at Jim Sharman’s Adelaide Festival in 1982. They feature a young Meryl Tankard who was one of the stars of the company, Tanztheater Wuppertal. Pina died last year and Spring Dance Festival is partly a tribute to her.
The show is mounted at the Sydney Opera House foyer, outside the Drama Theatre and The Studio. It runs from the Tues 23 August till Sunday 4 Sept, two weeks, during the Spring Dance Festival. The foyers are open all day from 10am and close after the last show.
There’s no opening however William will be there from 6.30pm till 7.30pm on THURSDAY 25 AUGUST.
