Plastic Camera images inspired by Cinema, Celluloid and the Silver Screen Ludlites are lovers and this exhibition follows our tradition of simply named, open ended exhibition titles.
This is the 11th Ludlite show and our film based plastic camera group have looked at serious, quirky and imaginative ways to explain our love for film. There are some sensitive and unconventional images that are both inspired and inspiring to view.
A number of well known and exotic movies have been explored with some members using cinema film stock to fully integrate their ideas. Others have used celluloid, the base material of all film, to delve further into the potentials of this material.
A pinhole plastic camera has been used to successfully multiple expose subject matter, resulting in a haunting rendition of scenes from an Italian cinema classic. One Ludlite has invented his own lens to use on his Holga camera for this project. Ludlites don’t use the latest software or digital wizardry, they prefer traditional photographic methods and create new ways to use and transform the humble plastic camera to produce some amazing results.
Come along and share the love at our opening Sunday May 3 at 2:00pm.
