By chance, I came across five rolls of film that I thought were lost from when I took photos at the 3 Portes cafe in the Marolles neighbourhood on the Place du Jeu de Balle in Brussels. The cafe was a popular gathering spot for locals to socialise, drink, dance, and flirt. Unfortunately, the cafe no longer exists today.
Belgian photojournalist Alain Schroeder began as a sports photographer in the 1980s before working across publications and editorials in art and human stories and has achieved much international recognition.
In 2013, he uprooted his life, trading his shares in Reporters, to pursue life on the road with a camera. Schroeder now travels the world shooting stories focusing on social issues, people and their environment.
