What happens beneath the surface of an apparently perfect world – the leafy suburb? Behind the beauty of the quiet tree-lined streets, manicured verges, and substantial houses with lovingly tended gardens lies the truth of lives lived with just as much human drama as anywhere else.
Beneath Leafy is an exploration of the darker side of family life in such places. To illustrate the sadness beneath the charm, this exhibition traverses the dysfunction, ennui, conflict, loneliness and power struggles juxtaposed against the surrounding order and beauty.
