Welcome to the new Head On blog!

Redeye is an online publication for the dissemination and discussion of Australian photography.

Naturally, it will follow events at the annual Head On Photography Festival but will also feature work by photographers and writers – via a curated selection as well as through submissions from around the country.

With regular contributions from writers, curators, academics, publishers, editors and photographers, Redeye aims to provide a unique and engaging forum for the promotion and posterity of Australian photography, through reviews of books and exhibitions, artist features as well as articles, essays and other photography related ruminations.

We look forward to engaging with the photographic community and welcome your contributions. If there are subjects you want to see discussed or want to suggest an artist or feature, get in touch!

Please note that this is not the forum for discussing gear or technical issues. There are plenty of other websites that do this well – our intention rather is to discuss and feature great photography and to encourage rigorous, intellectual and clean debate. If you have a gripe, why not submit it to our “Gripes of Wrath” section? Just remember to keep it cool.

To be considered for publication on Redeye, please send all submissions to [email protected] following the guidelines below.
