portrait
It took 3 days of driving from Addis Ababa to Kibbish in order to photograph this Suri tribe who reside in the village of Naregeer in the Upper Omo valley, a very remote area of Ethiopia close to the border of South Sudan. This shot, taken at about 6.30am was the first shot of the day. The boy was balancing on the tree trunk on a field of Sorghum. Traditionally the women and children of the Suri decorate themselves with white clay patterns and create beautiful head pieces using the indigenous flora and fauna.
