Francesco aged 25, on his first visit to an aquarium, Italy. Francesco has a rare and very aggressive form of multiple sclerosis and can’t coordinate his movements – access to many places is a major issue. There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis; medications are modestly effective but adverse effects can be worse than the symptoms. Francesco has commenced an experimental protocol with a Brazilian neurologist and travels once a year to Sao Paulo. Francesco’s condition is currently stable, but he needs continual assistance. Francesco is eternally optimistic and his resiliance is something really admirable.
