This portrait is from a new body of work titled ‘SPECIMENS’ which consists of an updated taxonomy of masculine ‘types’. ‘SPECIMENS’ derived from the Latin verb specere ‘to look’ – presents my ongoing fascination and pleasure in looking, specifically at the male sitter, which has been at the core of my portraiture practice for more than two decades.
