The Faces of the First Nations
Dave Laslett

portrait
The plight of remote Anangu includes a high cost of living, disruption of services and few employment opportunities, often forcing some to relocate away from their community to survive. This severing of the connection to the land creates a tangible loss of culture and a multitude of social and emotional issues. This image shows the faces of the faceless, etching a searing narrative, rich with resilience, patience and a natural beauty embodying defiant hope, emanating from the oldest living culture.
