Dark day
Skye Auer

landscape
Just minutes before darkness deeper than midnight fell over the afternoon, I checked on my neighbour who was busy wetting down. We waited, black leaves and ash falling all around, while the great dragon satisfied its insatiable hunger elsewhere that day. The darkness lifted a few hours later, just in time for a second twilight before another long black night of falling ash.
