Head On Photo Festival asks all photo artists interested in being part of the 2013 Head On Photo Festival to email your expression of interest to [email protected]
Head On requires all photo artists, irrepective of whether you have a venue confirmed already or not, to utilise this submissions system. All submissions will be viewed by a selection committee who will choose the artist/exhibitions to be included in the 2013 Head On Photo Festival. Head On are open to accept all photo artists, emerging, established and everything in between.
Head On also provides a match-making service – establishing connections between venues and artists looking for each other in 2013. Already got a venue? Thats ok, you can submit too.
In 2013, there will be three levels of exhibitions – Primary (which are a number of artists selected by Head On for a partially subsidised exhibition), Featured and Associated. Head On will determine whether your exhibition will be promoted as a Primary, Featured or Associated event. The costs of a Featured or Associated event are the responsibility of the venue or the artist.
The decision on which category your exhibition falls into, will be based on the type of venue you are exhibiting within (museum/cafe) and the level (international/local/acclaimed/emerging) of your exhibition work. Primary, Featured and Associated exhibitions receive different amounts of benefits and promotion during the festival.
There is no payment required at this stage. However, if Head On identifies you as a festival artist/exhibition, you will be contacted to make payment on the required amount relevant for the ‘level’ of your exhibition.
Associated exhibitions: $150.00 (Head On Member: $140.00)
Benefits received:
– Exhibition webpage and link on the Head On Photo Festival site. You will have access to update this yourself.
– Exhibition listing on e-newsletters sent in lead up and during festival.
– Promotion of opening via Head On’s facebook page.
– Inclusion in the Head On Photo Festival App.
– Head On will assists venue staff with publicity for the exhibition by providing a festival press release template.*
Primary# and Featured exhibitions: $200.00 (Head On Member: $190.00)
Benefits received:
– Exhibition webpage on the Head On Photo Festival site. You will have access to update this yourself.
– Inclusion on the Head On Photo Festival e-newsletters sent in lead up and during festival.
– Inclusion on the Head On Photo Festival Printed Guide.
– The exhibition opening will be documented by TAFE Sydney Instutute students on behalf of Head On.
– Head On social media promotions of the exhibition during the festival.
– Inclusion in the Head On Photo Festival App.
– Head On will publicise the exhibition and its artist to local, national and international media (where relevant and at Head On’s own discretion).*
#Head On will partially subsidise the costs of the Primary exhibitions (printing, mounting and curatorial services).
