The times they are a-changing for Head On Photo Festival
The Head On team thought long and hard about the timeline that we had been working to and decided to move it forward. This will allow everyone more time to organise exhibitions and to source the necessary resources.
We began with exhibition submissions for Head On Photo Festival 2019; you will have noticed that the submissions period ran across July (brought forward from September).
We received hundreds of fantastic submissions and we’ll start sharing the results with the submitters by the end of August.
Head On Photo Awards – new entry dates
The entry period for the Head On Photo Awards will also open earlier – November 2018 until late January 2019.
We anticipate that the terms and conditions and the prize pool of $65,000 will be similar to past years.

Head On Photo Festival 2019 dates
Next year’s dates are 4-19 May 2019 kicking off with the Head On Photo Festival Launch & Announcement of Winners on Friday 3 May 2019.

Notifications begin: August 2018
Head On Photo Awards entries: open November 2018 – January 2019
Program closes: February 2019
Head On Photo Festival 2019: 4-19 May (launching Friday 3 May with opening weekend events Saturday 4 – Sunday 5 May)
