Wastelands

I photographed this panorama at the Eastern Creek Waste Management Centre in November 2012. What at first appears to be scattered plastic bags on the mountain of landfill are actually hundreds of Sacred Ibis’. The crows also symbolism to the vista, one waiting for whatever plunder may be uncovered by the front end loader, the other fleeing the scene, most likely with a scavenged morsel.
