Smoke in the distance, near Silverton, 2012

On the road to Silverton in mid-2012 the local talk was of steady stream of smoke on the horizon, the rumour was that it was the set of the new Mad Max movie.
This image is from a continuing series ‘The Murray River Project’ that began in 2010. Other images from this series were shortlisted for the Centre for Contemporary Photography’s Documentary Award 2011, the Josephine Ulrick Prize 2010, and the Bowness Photo Prize 2012
