This weathered sand dune shot at a dawn moonrise near the Walls of China, Mungo National Park evokes the adventures of Saint Exupery’s Little Prince and his struggles with the boabab trees that threatened to crumble his home planet – asteroid B612 – to dust.
The struggle of the trees in Mungo country is just as dramatic, but here it is the trees that have been holding the dunes together. However this dune looks as though it is losing its battle with erosion and the trees appear ready to pull up stumps and move on.
