An exquisite moment when nature collides within its elements. Shot at Callan Park in Rozelle on a winters evening, the waterway of Iron Cove reflects the embers of the sky and swirl with the incoming tide, punctuated by the distant headlight that slices the picture.
Shot on a Nokia N8 with all effects in camera using a sliding technique I enjoy when attempting to draw with the available light. Involves shifting the camera as the shutter releases and allowing points of light in the picture to act as pencils or brushes. The result always surprising and to a degree uncontrollable as the minutest shift of your hand creates a whole different trajectory and as such, picture. Here the effect is dramatically painterly as the colours present in the sky blur to give a watercolour feel.
