The Peak Hill Gold Mine is located 50 kilometres north of Parkes in central New South Wales. Gold ore was mined from the oxide deposit by conventional open pit mining from the main Proprietary-Parkers pit and three smaller satellite pits. Agglomeration heap leach and dump leach were used to recover the gold. A total of 153,000 ounces were recovered by the operation till 2006
Decommissioning of the site and final rehabilitation are largely completed. Only the office infrastructure and wet plant (gold recovery circuit and ponds) remain.
