The land over the Mines

In the industrial coalmining area in Germany, mountains of coal have been renaturalized during the last years. After the closure of most mines, industrial ruins were left both underground and above. Black mountains are now covered with fresh vegetation, windmills replace coal as the producers of electricity. This scene represents the paradigm shift in the region.
