Another rainy summer in Germany- Just after the strawberry season has finished too early again as every year with most of the berries swamped with rain, the landscape in northern Germany sticks to it’s subtle soft colors. The light is nowhere near as intense as in Australia and the sky is like a big grey blanket leaving a foggy, desaturated impression. Growing up in Germany I remember getting excited to see the strawberry hut because you could go and harvest your own strawberries and eat them on the fields paying by the bucket. The strawberry bucket is part of the series “Sightings- Summer in Germany” including other sculptures found in the mostly agriculturally used landscapes between northern German cities like Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin.
