Figtree in Parkland, Centennial Park NSW 2010

I wanted to see if I could move beyond a linear view of a landscape and instead create a mosaic of colour and form by looking through the leaves of a large figtree and showing what lay beyond the leaves themselves. It was an ambitious technique that required light-painting in fine detail all the elements that the camera could see – grass, leaf, bark etc. and then blending them in along with light from the sky. I also incorporated some movement of the branches in the evening breeze.
