Over the past few years of big desert rains I traveled to Kati Thanda,(Lake Eyre),
This aerial abstract is of the wading tracks of coastal birds. Birds that somehow know this normally dry and barren place is awash with life. Pelicans are flying low and their shadows follow.
The chaos of the tracks is reflected also throughout the dunes and woodlands of the Central Deserts as for a brief time, as long as the water lasts, all the desert ecosystems explode with life energy. Brief but so intense you can feel the pulse.
