Retiro Station is the large main railway terminus of Buenos Aires Argentina. The French-style station building was designed by the British was opened in 1915. The steel structure for the building was made in Liverpool, and re-assembled in Argentina. For many years it was considered to be the most important example of structural engineering in South America and architecturally and In 1997 it was declared a National Monument.
To this day this grand structure is both a lively functioning building and a breathtaking architectural work.
