I often imagine landscapes to be ancient manifestations of the human form. In this image, taken on Yardea Station in the Gawler Ranges of South Australia, I felt that I was looking at a woman’s figure, lying horizontally across the frame. Carrying a tripod I had the luxury of a long exposure (20 secs) and also the the abililty to frame the shot to my liking. On taking the shot I felt that I was connecting with a form which was both human and ancient.
