Big Bend

Lesser known than its big brothers – Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite National Park’s – Texas’ Big Bend, which hugs the Rio Grande and The Mexican border in the remote south of the state, is every bit as majestic. After getting off the beaten track and carving his own way to the top of this peak, Mark Callanan admires the enormous space before him before a night camped beneath a rock overhang and an electrical storm.
