Fraud Blocker

This photograph was taken at night at Ballast Point Park looking out over a bund wall to Sydney Harbour. This concrete wall is a remnant of an old Caltex oil refinery on the harbour foreshore at Birchgrove in inner western Sydney. The park has a complex history from the time of white settlement to the more recent struggle by residents to stop commercial development of the site. I was struck by the eeriness created by the textures of the bund wall in contrast with the softness of the water beyond and the light patterns that combine the industrial and the natural within this urban landscape.
