Anderson Inlet lies at the head of Venus Bay near the small South Gippsland town of Inverloch. It is regarded variously as an estuary of the Tarwin River or as a bay fed by that river and three other creeks on their way to Bass Strait. This dynamic estuarine environment creates intertidal mudflats corrugated by the ebb and flow of currents. They are painted here by the pastel remnants of dawn showers, reflecting the passage of the elements.
