‘…and then it rained’ is part of a studio based body of work exploring landscape.
The simple scenario of rain falling on water is Chaos Theory in action – where the deterministic nature of these systems does not make them predictable. Difficult to comprehend at small scale, their sublime complexity becomes visible when viewed large – from perfectly formed falling spheres, the force of their impacts recorded in a myriad craters and concentric shock waves on the topography of the waterscape.
My work is about finding the extraordinary in the everyday, giving cause to linger, to reconsider the familiar.
