Over the summer holidays, Australian coastal towns bloat with city families/couples/singles struggling to escape their work identities. The beach offers the promise of anonymity and equality. A temporal haven for the urban fatigued.
The beach has no discrimination – old and young, rich and poor, men and women, children and adults, black and white, locals and anyone else – all come to pray in the blue room.
