Nyk Sykes. This body of work references the long history of the portrait and the nude in painting and photography and reflects on that tradition in our multi-cultural world.

Inspired by the ancient Roman goddess, Venus, my work here explores classical beauty in a modern context. It has contrast, transformations and narrative. It is sensual, erotic and emotional.

Nyk Sykes

Nyk Sykes was born in Sydney and raised in Australia and the UK. He has won awards from New York, London and Paris for his fashion, nude, portrait, arts and entertainment photography.

Last year, Sykes’s work featured the artbook Nudes 5, by the prestigious New York publisher Graphis. His work was published alongside such acclaimed contemporary photographers as Albert Watson and Howard Schwartz.
