Vanitas Revisited considers the beauty and fragile transience of life and memories.
Mirroring the gentle shadow and ethereal inevitability of decline, these floral images capture the temporal nature of life in a painterly style.
The works are influenced by the Dutch Masters and the 17th century Netherlands still life paintings.
Enveloped in chiaroscuro, this imagery explores and celebrates the soulful nature and wonder of our lives.

Elaine Batton”s fine art photography is influenced by paintings through the ages. Her works celebrate beauty and colour.
Whilst contemporary art often explores diverse concepts, messages and approaches, her work gives a voice to beauty and seeks to ensure that the art of beauty in fine art and nature continues to be explored.
She has exhibited solo and as part of groups around Australia, and was a finalist in the 2016 & 2017 Bowness Prize and 2016 & 2018 Fremantle Art Centre Print Award. Her work is included in many private and corporate collections.
