City structures start out as rigid designs with specific form. Over time, layer upon layer, parts of these structures become altered through different processes which create unintended designs. The city is always a work in progress, organically changing with the ebb and flow of forces over time.
The journalist and activist Jane Jacobs who wrote about cities viewed them not as works of art because they are never complete, and believed they cannot be a product of a single vision.
These images attempt to capture some of those organic designs in small pockets of cities in Australia.
The exhibition includes 48 handprinted black and white images each 7×7 inches.
