This exhibition is part of a larger body of work on festivals which has continued since my early career where I worked solely in the music industry, largely at ‘Rock’ festivals. The creation of my book Peace Love and Brown Rice: A Photographic History of the Big Day Out allowed me see a reverence that is inspired at audience level.

The Eagle as a symbol of transformation, our higher selves that fly, expand in time space.  The Celtic Rune Perth is symbolised by the flight of the eagle, soaring flight, free from entanglement lifting oneself above the ordinary acquiring a broader vision.

The thread that runs through my work is energy. It is the fabric, the element that holds the disparity together, its varying incarnations, it is the invisible substance often unexpected, unrehearsed. Through this work I learnt that with simplicity our relationship to nature, environment, and the ‘Eternal Blue Sky’ is almost tangible and the Mongolians were so well placed for me to realise this. Presence of self being the key to touch the intangible and transmit it to images of transformation.
