In Fijian, the word sere means both to sing and to untie. It is a poetic connection between the two, suggesting that songs are bound within the body, ready for release.
While travelling across the Fijian island of Taveuni, Rob Gray captured moments of daily life, places of worship and places of natural wonder. The resulting images propose that if a song is already there waiting for release, then similarly a photograph may already exist, all it needs is to be found.
