The before, the during, the after.

Human interaction with the environment creates intriguing contrasts. From the early stages of our interaction with the land through to the remnants left behind as nature takes back and erodes human marks. This series will look at the contrasts between human marks and the natural environment, the graphically stimulating and sometimes surreal landscapes that emerge as a result. It is an observation and commentary on the act of human progress

Born in Perth, Australia Leah Kennedy has always had a passion for the visual arts, her photographic work has become a way of conveying an experience of a place, time and/or concept. Photography being a vehicle for expressing the contrasts that life and humanity provide, it is a way of processing the complexities that surround us daily.

Leah Kennedy was awarded 2017 AIPP Creative Photographer of the Year and 2017 WA AIPP Illustrative Photographer of the Year among other prestigious awards. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts – Fine Art and Visual Culture at Curtin University.
