Alana Holmberg is The Pool Grant 2016 recipient for her photographic series Resist Laughter. Resist Laughter explores the experiences of young feminists in Turkey. Through portrait photography and streetscapes, the exhibition will look at the complexities and contradictions of being a modern and digitally-connected woman fighting for women’s rights and equality in a patriarchal and increasingly conservative society. The Pool Grant 2017 recipient will be announced during the opening night event on Thursday 11th May 2017 (RSVP ONLY).
