Christian Bumbarra Thompson occupies the forefront of contemporary Indigenous art. Working in photography, video and performance, Thompson’s work addresses pertinent issues of identity, cultural hybridity and history. In this new body of work, Thompson continues to use self-portraiture to create striking images which explore his unique take on contemporary photographic practice.
Thompson has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally, having been included in exhibitions such as unDisclosed, 2nd National Indigenous Triennial, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Collection, Valencian Institute of Modern Art, Valencia, Spain.
