The Nikon-Walkley Press Photography Exhibition is on display at the State Library of NSW until 27 April 2025.

The Walkley photographic awards are part of the highest accolades in Australian news reporting. The Walkleys have recognised excellence across all media since 1956, when the first awards were presented in five categories. As the news industry has evolved, the Walkleys have now grown to comprise 30 categories.

The Nikon-Walkley Press Photography Exhibition showcases the finalists in the 2024 Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism. More than 3,000 images were entered, across news and sport, portraiture and visual essays. In selecting the three finalists for each category, the Walkley photography judges looked for newsworthiness, impact, creativity and technical skill.
