Night Creatures

While strolling through a city, I am often struck by the silent figures in the cityscape. Statues and friezes representing humans, animals and mythical creatures stand frozen, mute and usually unremarked by the passer by. What if these figures were to come alive in the night? What would there purpose be? I postulate that their function is to defend the buildings that are their home. Hidden in plain sight during the day, these creatures emerge from the darkness to guard and protect the city throughout the night. “Night Creatures” attempts to capture the strength and spirit of some of these figures.
