“Some years ago, one of my students (82 years old) was doing an exercise using LINE as an element of design. I asked him how he was going with it. His reply is etched in my memory… “Lines, lines, the world is made of lines”.
My approach for this series is to use high contrast black and white line tone to bring out the lines in buildings and give the image a new impact on an everyday scene.”
I have been doing photography for over 30 years, starting in a serious way when I joined my local camera club in 1984. In those days I worked casually for a theatrical agency making portraits of extras working in films. I have also taught basic photography at high school for some 15 years. I retired from teaching in 2002 and continue to teach locally. I have had several exhibitions in the Penrith City Library since 2003, eleven with Head-On and this year is my 11th. 2023 is the anniversary of 20 years of putting exhibitions in Penrith Library.
