Exhibited over two sites, HOME is presented by Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation (SCAF), Paddington in association with the National Art School Gallery (NAS), Darlinghurst.

Chien-Chi Chang (Magnum) exhibits three bodies of work at the National Art School Gallery, including his powerful photographic series ‘The Chain’ (1993-1999), a collection of 45 portraits of psychiatric patients in Taiwan.  This internationally-respected Magnum photographer has always been fascinated by the human conditions of alienation and connection, and his work focuses on people whose bonds to society, family and community have been severed.

This exhibition is one half of the show HOME – information about the other event, held at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation, is available here

A chartered bus service will be available to ferry visitors between the two exhibitions on the night of the opening, between 17:00-19:00 on the 24th of May.

Artist’s talk: Chien-Chi Chang in conversation with Dr Natalie Seiz (Assistant Curator of Asian Art, Art Gallery of New South Wales) at NAS Gallery. Saturday 24 May, 11am— 12 noon. Free event, no bookings required.
