I AM. is a series of stylised photographic portraits of Australian Creative. The series aims to showcase a diverse range of Australia’s eclectic creatives across a variety of artistic genres. Both showcasing traditional artists, filmmaker, street art, to the lesser known or considered art forms, body-painter, permaculture designer, paper sculptor, circus and more, that includes a self-portrait of the photographer. This series relies on the willingness of each subject to participate in the creation of their own stylised image, often taking up to 2 days to create the set for their environmental portrait. Each image shows you the personality and character of each creative through their proud and sometimes an awkward expression. As Australian’s we are so lucky to have such an array of creative talent that deserves to be showcased and celebrated weather it be a well known artist, instagram sensation of passionate closet creative. This series hopes to document and showcase these talents through these ‘more is more’ conceptual portraits.
The is an on going series, which hopes to grow into a much larger and broader body of work. Eventually becoming a book I AM. – Portraits of Australians.
