One of the classic Australian icons of the 40’s and 50’s was the fibro home. Affordable and with a character of their own, such homes can still be found almost everywhere in the country. Once they represented the Great Australian Dream and by the 1950s, fibro houses made up a third of all houses being built. Fibro holiday houses are houses filled with memories. Usually populated (or over-populated) during the warmer months with family and friends, they represent hot sticky Christmases, sunburn, hot summers days jumping in and out of the sprinkler in the back yard and catching waves.|
