In a collaboration between Photographer Nicola Bailey and wordsmith Candy Royalle, “Violence” delves into the dark, raw and provocative world of Roller Derby.
Using projections, air brushing and stenciling on the bodies of three Roller derby models, segments of Candy’s poems about the sport were then photographed by Nicola against a dark and moody backdrop. Together they hoped to chart the violence, passion and fierce kinship of this increasingly popular female sport.
